Local Lad!

Short time in San Jose so asked Roberto if he could do something special for us: combine cycling and walking. No problem. We went out on the bikes first. Initially very busy but once out of the initial road , it was calm. Alex suited the ride to my pace, stopping to chat and explain culturally what was happening and point of interest. A trip to the green market was extremely interesting as well as trying some local foods. A walking tour around the market and surrounding area then a stop a lovely quiet location amongst the hustle and bustle to try some coffee. Bought some lovely Costa Rican chocolate there as well! This was like a local friend showing you around. We really enjoyed!
Best Costa Rican food and bike ride!

Malo was our very friendly bike tour guide! He was very informative about the history and culture of San José. We stopped at a coffee shop to have an amazing Costa Rican coffee tasting at Encafeinados, and we ate our empanadas that we grabbed earlier. After the tour, he even went out of his way and helped us find some mosquito repellent we were trying to find. I highly recommend this tour if you are in San José!
San Jose All The Way

Alex and Roberto were both wonderful to deal with, knowledgeable and friendly. They keep the tours intimate and unique. The ride was fantastic. We learned about the culture, art, history, architecture, and politics of San Jose. What a delight! The food, drinks, and atmosphere were fantastic. We even saw two sloths within the city limits. We highly recommend a tour with this group. ChepeCletas got it right. Thanks for everything!

Great insider view of Costa Rican history

Really enjoyed Alex's in-depth knowledge of the city and the history of Costa Rica.

The bikes were good and helmets were provided. The bike ride was fairly easy which worked for us because I was recovering from surgery. I had the impression that Alex can adjust distance and difficulty based on riders. Alex also focused on our main interest, history.

The empanadas were excellent, as was the discussion around coffee.

San Jose is not a very bike friendly city, but after a few busy streets Alex took us into quieter neighborhoods.

Highly recommended
Interesting trip

San Jose is fairly limited in sites to see but this was a very good way of doing it. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and I would highly recommend him.
