What To Expect

Jardins da Cachoeira de La Paz
This is a day-pass to the La Paz Waterfall Gardens Nature Park.

The park features five waterfalls, cloud forest and rain forest, safe hiking trails, aviary with numerous species of birds, toucan feeding, insect exhibit, butterfly observatory, capuchin (white-faced) monkeys, black-handed spider monkeys, hummingbird garden with 26 documented species, hummingbird hand feeding in the mornings and afternoons, serpentarium (snake exhibit), jaguars, pumas, ocelots, margays,ox cart, and an orchid exhibit.  You will be able to enjoy any of these by using the day pass.

Meals are not included but can be purchased on site.

Lovely place, amazing food.
All the nature of the country in one place.
So sorry they don’t have Morfa butterflies!!!
I have been visiting during years an this year I miss my butterflies.
Please pay attention to it

We saw a lot of animals that you don’t see a lot and they were beautiful ! We can hold butterflies and the waterfall were beautiful !
Fun in the Jungle

La Paz was a really fun place to walk around. It was neat to see all of the animals. The jaguars were very active and fun to watch. We really enjoyed walking around the waterfalls. There were quite a few stairs but they are in great condition and easy to walk around even when wet. The gift stores were great and all of the help was super friendly and kind.

A must see! Great views of waterfalls and the animals. It is at least a 1 1/2 -2 hour ride from San Jose so plan accordingly. I highly recommend hiring a driver that will stay there while you are walking the park and then take you back. A Uber or taxi won’t work.

Toucans! Waterfall hike and big cats. Lunch at Trout Bar was very good. The grounds are spectacular and hiking easy on trails.

It was all excellent. I love hummingbirds, so that was a highlight. The waterfalls were also spectacular, and my calves are reminding me about it now. Fresh trout at the trout bar was delicious.
Must see in Vera Blanca

Must see when visiting Vara Blanca. Plenty to see and do in a day. Truly enjoyed “hiking” to the Catarata aka waterfalls, as well as visiting their butterfly sanctuary. It was our first time seeing so many different species of butterfly in one place. Also enjoyed seeing the jaguars up close. They were actually quite playful with one another. Overall, we would highly recommend this place to others.
The tickets were ready for us when we arrived!

It was great! Our tickets were waiting for us when we arrived. We loved the garden too! It was a great beginning of the vacation with kids.

We really enjoyed this place, but I do think it's a little overpriced for what it was.
We enjoyed watching the monkeys interact & to see the other animals too. The waterfall was really amazing to see.
The buffet lunch all the food was really good too, a little over priced for that too.
