What To Expect
Travel to the Arenal Volcano area, the most popular touristic region of Costa Rica, and enjoy many of the beauties of the country on this full-day trip. Your tour starts in the morning when you are picked up from your hotel in the San Jose area in an air-conditioned vehicle and you will then travel to Arenal on an alternative route that is more scenic than the regular highway to this popular destination. On the way to Arenal, you will stop in a plantation where you will learn about coffee of Costa Rica, here you will be able to observe the coffee plants and see the workers picking the ripe cherries during the harvest season. Your guide will share information on this important product to the local economy and other important facts (coffee degustation will be provided later in a rustic coffee shop).

Paradise Hot Springs
Afterward, you will visit various points around the volcano to take pictures of this amazing mountain on clear days, and you will then travel to the beautiful Paradise Hot Springs Resort, a place where you will be able to relax for a few hours in the multiple hot springs pools surrounded by lush tropical gardens. This hot springs facility is one of the best in the Arenal area and provides the perfect environment to relax in thermal mineral water pools, jacuzzis, and cascading waterfalls. After enjoying the relaxing hot springs you will go to a local typical restaurant to have a delicious Costa Rican dinner and then will be taken back to your hotel in the San Jose area.

Travelling with Oscar was a treat his command and ability to fluidly switch from English to Spanish made me jealous of his language skills. His humour and information as a tour guide showed his deep love for his country and community. One of the best tour guides I have ever had!
We started the day at 6am where Oscar picked us up from our hotel on time. We picked up a few others and were on our way to Arenal Volcano. On the way we stopped for some coffee, fresh fruit, to view sloths, lunch, a snack and dinner, toucans, waterfalls, hummingbirds, iguanas, and other wildlife!
Hands down an amazing tour! Highly recommend and ask for Oscar.

Oscar was an amazing tour guide!
He took us through different sites on the way to Arenal volcano so it did not seem like a long way at all!
He told us lots of information and interesting facts about everywhere we went and was very passionate about seeing the wildlife, so if he saw some he would stop the car and show us. It was awesome.
The timings were great and he made sure our lunch was ready when we arrived at the restaurant, after giving us a choice of food to choose from before going.

Such a fun and memorable experience! Fernando was so knowledgeable and welcoming. He really took us on a fun and exciting adventure. From the history of the coffee bean, to sloths and the hot springs it was a bang for your buck! Would book again in a heart beat!

This tour exceeded my expectations! My tour guide Fernando was amazing not only did he make additional stops for us to see pineapple farms but we also were able to see some sloths close up. While driving to the excursions Fernando taught us about the history of Costa Rica and even made interactive quizzes so come ready to learn. To top off the night he even had the dinner restaurant sing happy birthday to me. :)
The tour was a drive to a coffee plantation followed by a stop for coffee and snack. Then we saw a waterfall, had some lunch, zip lining if you chose to or visiting the indigenous tribe, and finished at the hit springs.

Our guide Alex was exceptional! Knowledgeable, professional, very personable -a wonderful representative of his country as well as his company.

I really liked the trip, juan did a great job and explaned very well. he answered every question and was always motivated to help. His english is very good and you feel confortable listening to him. He is really kind. The trip was perfect organized.

We loved the variety of the things we saw. It included even more than was listed. Juan was an amazing tour guide and he stopped for us to see animals in the wild.
I would eliminate or set a shorter time for souvenir shopping as the day stretched to over a 15 hour experience.
