Meet your guide in the lobby of your hotel, get on your transfer vehicle and head to the gardens of the La Paz waterfall. Visit ten animal exhibitions to see fascinating creatures, such as butterflies, monkeys, toads, snakes, exotic birds and even felines from the jungle that roam the place.
Take a moderate-intensity hike to the gardens of the La Paz waterfall, an exuberant green space where biodiversity is very present. Walk the paved trail of 3 kilometers (1.8 mi), which will take you to the base of the La Paz waterfall. This ecological park, with a height that varies between 1,200 and 1,500 meters (4,000 to 5,000 ft), is home to a wide variety of wildlife and plant species.

Roger was a great guide ! Very knowledgeable and personable was clear on the itinerary for the day and ensured our group was comfortable and okay the entire time. The animals were very interesting, butterfly’s were so beautiful and the water falls were simply stunning! Highly recommend this tour !?

Great outdoor place, 5 waterfalls, avairy, butterflies, hummingbirds, and some rescue animals. Our tour included the buffet lunch.

The best tour I went on in Costa Rica. Our tour guide (Edgar) was hilarious. He gave us detailed tours and guided us the whole way. The animals were great and the waterfall was beautiful. Can’t recommend this enough!!

I really liked this tour. It was well paced with lots of stops mixed in with some informative bits. The animals at the nature reserve were great. Everyone seemed to especially enjoy the waterfalls. The tour guide did a great job of addressing our needs in English and Spanish.
A Fun and Beautiful Experience

This day tour from San Jose was well worth the time and cost. We were picked up at our hotel and driven the 45 minutes or so to meet up with people who chose the full day tour. On the way we stopped at a coffee plantation and got an abbreviated version of Costa Rican coffee history. Our guide at La Paz was wonderful. She was pleasant, energetic, and informative. The animals and waterfalls were the reasons why we went on this tour, and we were not disappointed. One side note. I've been on other tours in the area and the included buffet is usually not memorable. This luncheon buffet was great! I would've gone back for seconds if I didn't have a big walk through the forest following. Roasted chicken, salad, pasta, hot dogs, fries, and so much more.

La Paz Waterfall Gardens is lovely

The La Paz Waterfall Gardens and Wildlife Refuge is a beautiful location. I enjoyed seeing the animals and the beautiful plants and waterfalls. The food at the buffet was also quite good. Before we arrived at the gardens, we stopped at a local coffee plantation. The property was lovely and the coffee was quite good. It would have been nice to be able to walk through the property, but it was still a nice place to stop. We also stopped at another local place to try some local dishes. That was nice, though I think I would have enjoyed it more if we had a chance to sit and try the dishes and hear about them. That said, the tour was very enjoyable, and the transportation provided was quite comfortable.
