What To Expect
The trip start in our office in Turrialba at 7:50am.
Normally we start at 8am and get back by 3.00pm, River time 4 hours includes Lunch, 18 miles.

Pacuare River is now in the top 10 most beautiful river on the world, hopefully we will enjoy wildlife a nature forest.
We are focus in have a private tour with especially service focusing in the environment of the river and great rapids. In every trip we have a Photographer taking pictures all the way down in the river, this is a additional service that we offer to our costumers, and is very important bring extra clothes for after the trip, the weather can change fast, we recommend fresh clothes, not rings, not earrings, etc.

Such an incredibly beautiful river. We did the 1 day tour, starting at 7:30 with a 1 hour drive to where we put in, approximately 4 hours on the river , a stop for lunch and then 1.5 hours drive back to Turrialba. Our guide was Charlo (may be misspelled) and Roberto was in the kayak as safety and photographer. Water was low but we still had loads of fun. Charlo kept us entertained throughout and made sure that we didn’t stay too dry. Lunch was incredible with tortilla and many assorted fillings including local Turrialba cheese. The scenery was breathtaking with many different birds, trees, and passing by indigenous areas. We fully intend to return during higher water season.

Rafting the Pacuare is a do not miss in Costa Rica. Beautiful. Pura Vida.
We went with Tico’s River Adventures as a small family owned business. Well maintained equipment, easy transportation, & excellent communication. They were very accommodating for the various physical abilities of people in our party.
Fabio, our guide, was the best of the best! He is extremely professional. Fabio was both super fun & extremely safe. He got the whole boat working as team. Fabio clearly delights in sharing his love of rafting, this River, & Costa Rica.

FANTASTIC!
The Pacuare river is number 4 on the National Geographic’s most beautiful rivers in the world.
We can’t recommend this trip and company enough! Very professional and safety conscious at all times but still allowing us to have lively fun and enjoy the excitement of class 3/4 rapids.
Roberto is the owner and was the first Costa Rican to set up a rafting company. He collected us in a clean and well maintained minibus ( we have been in some really bad ones before!) to take you about 40 minutes to the river start point. All valuables were safe as Roberto was with the bus at all times
We were expertly guided by Fabio who has been on the river over 16 years and was great fun. Lots of banter and he delighted in getting our 19year old daughter and my husband wet at the front !!
BEAUTIFUL scenery. It’s breathtaking to paddle through the forest with the mist hanging on the top canopies and so SILENT.
The Pacuare river is super to raft as there are rapids followed by a bit of quiet time then the next rapids but flowing fast enough to not have to paddle too hard in between. Great contrast of scenery from top to bottom of the river
Simple but delicious lunch of burritos made from a great selection of fillings plus fresh pineapple. Great photos taken by Roberto’s son un the kayak that also acts as a rescue boat. Showers at the end and a beer if you want it to celebrate a great trip !

We did the 1 day rafting tour on the Rio Pacuare with Tico's River and it was AWESOME. The rafting was fun and intense and the scenery was gorgeous. We really felt safe with Tico's River. There were staff members in kayaks following us and we stayed grouped with the other rafts just in case. The equipment is in perfect condition. We had a great lunch afterward. Would 100% recommend this company for the tour.

Had a fantastic day with Tico’s River Team. Roberto the owner was very helpful in getting us organised after our initial date was cancelled due to unsafe conditions (which they monitor closely each morning)
Our guide Fabio was excellent with 16 years experience and clearly knew what he was doing. He also made it fun and got the boat working well together.
Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area, or even if you’re not! We drove from Samara just to do this before our flight out.
The scenery was stunning so take a water proof camera if you can. There is a kayak with a photographer who takes more professional pictures but he wasn’t always in the right place and missed a couple of the rapids so best to have your own too.
